Faculty Position: Assistant Professor of Climate Change and Vector- or Water-bor

The Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track, academic year (9-month) position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek a candidate with a track record of excellence and productivity in research who studies the consequences of climate change for the ecology of vector- or water-borne infectious diseases. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a rigorous, externally funded research program using theoretical or empirical approaches, and to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Primary teaching responsibilities will include contributing to a core course in ecology, and upper-level courses in the successful candidate’s area of expertise.

The Odum School of Ecology is a leader in the areas of infectious disease and aquatic ecology, and enjoys close collaborations with two centers: The Center for Ecology of Infectious Diseases, which supports advanced quantitative analysis through working groups in mapping, modeling and disease forecasting, and the River Basin Center, which links aquatic research with real-world policy and management needs. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who would enhance linkages between these and other centers on campus, such as the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases and the Georgia Initiative for Climate and Society.
