The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) NRC Postdoctoral Research Associateship is a competitive position intended to attract recent PhDs interested in conducting independent research in an area of measurement science. NIST NRC Postdocs serve a 2-year term with a base stipend of $72,030 USD per annum.

I am currently looking for a Postdoc to work in the Biomolecular Measurement Division developing novel computational methods for analysis chemical and biochemical data. This position is based out of NIST’s campus in Gaithersburg, MD. I am opening to working with postdocs from any STEM background, assuming they are interested in both applied mathematics and scientific applications.

Formally, eligible applicants must be no more than 5 years removed from receiving their PhD and a US citizen. The next round of applications are due February 1, 2021 (for earliest start date July 2021). The second round of applications this year will be due August 1, 2021 (for earliest start date of October 2021).

NIST provides a unique multidisciplinary research-intensive environment with a cooperative and collaborative culture. Past NRC Postdocs have found future work in government, academia and industry.

If you’re interested in working with me or would like to know about other NIST opportunities (including opportunities for non US citizens), please feel free to contact me at arun.moorthy@nist.gov.
