Postdoc: Mechanistic modeling for HIV cure @ Merck & Co. Inc

We now open a 3-yr Postdoctoral Research Fellow position focusing on mechanistic modeling of, but not limited to, HIV cure with preclinical and clinical data at Merck & Co., Department of Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, and Drug Metabolism (PPDM), Quantitative Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics (QP2).  The posting is open for applications from now until March 13th.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Quantitative Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics (QP2), you will work with a highly collaborative team of scientists from HIV disease area biology, pharmacology, clinical, regulatory and scientific affairs. HIV cure remains a great challenge as it lacks proven mechanisms and targets, clearly defined clinical endpoints, and validated biomarkers. Quantitative mechanistic modeling and simulations for HIV cure can help address these challenges. In this role, you will develop and apply mathematical models including viral dynamics models based on both internal and external data to address mechanistic questions in HIV cure research. This work will be used to help drive strategy for future targets and candidates for HIV Cure and other viral infectious diseases. All Postdoctoral Research Fellows will work with a dedicated mentor and collaborate with experience scientists and are fully integrated into the larger Quantitative Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics (QP2) group.
