We invite applications for a 3-year postdoctoral research scholar in the Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University. This position will be expected to conduct research and collaborate in mathematical biology and applied mathematics and/or data science. Candidates should have a background in relevant mathematical/statistical approaches, but prior knowledge of the application area is not a prerequisite. The scholar will work with Prof. Zixuan Cang (https://zcang.math.ncsu.edu/) on data-driven modeling in biology and developing mathematical tools for analyzing single-cell and spatial omics data. The scholar is expected to teach two courses per year. The particular courses are assigned by the department after close consultation with the scholar. A Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematical biology, computational biology, or related fields is required.
The starting date is flexible and is anticipated between January and August 2023.
