The Human Genomics Lab at The University of Vermont (www.uvm.edu/genomics) is looking for one postdoc in bioinformatics of omics data. Research areas in our lab includes bioinformatics development, disease risk discovery, and translational medicine. We are looking for candidates with interests in any one of the three areas. The postdoc will join our multi-disciplinary collaborative team to work on our newly generated large omics datasets (genome, transcriptome, epigenome, microbiome, brain images, and phenome) from multiple specimen types (blood, postmortem brains, neurons, and mice). Depending on personal interests, the postdoc will work on diseases such as myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (an under-studied brain neuroinflammatory disease, 1 in 100 has this disease), substance use disorders (epidemic in the US), or other selected diseases. The postdoc will contribute to genomic risk discovery and approach development. Candidates will participate in various collaborations across the US and Canada. Postdoctoral training awards are available for eligible applicants. Teaching opportunities are also available if interested.

Applicants with genomics, biology, data science or other quantitative background in any species (plants, animals, microbes) are welcome. Experience with omics data analysis pipeline development and genome-wide analysis is especially welcome. Successful applicant should have first-author publications in well-recognized journals and has self-motivation and passion in our research. Salary (>50000/year) are negotiable. Health/dental and various other University benefits will be provided. The University is beautiful and located by a big lake, and living cost is very low. To apply, please send CV to dawei.li[at]uvm.edu. The position is immediately available. The job updates are online (www.uvm.edu/genomics/attachment/Postdoc.pdf).
