Dear Colleagues,
The NSF Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) is notifying members of the research communities about an important change to due dates for proposals to the Mathematical Biology program.
To allow Principal Investigators (PIs) more flexibility and to better facilitate interdisciplinary research between DMS, programs in Biology, and other programs, DMS is removing the due dates for submission of proposals to the Mathematical Biology Program, effective immediately.
By accepting proposals at any time, DMS is affording the opportunity for PIs to think more creatively, build strong collaborations, and carefully prepare proposals with the potential to make significant research contributions to the field of Mathematical Biology. It is our hope that the elimination of deadlines will reduce the burden on institutions and the community.
A declined proposal may serve as the basis for a resubmission, but only after it has undergone substantial revision to take into account the major comments from prior NSF review, as determined by the cognizant NSF Program Director, and only after 12 months has passed from the previous date of submission. A revised proposal must abide by the 12-month moratorium regardless of whether the previous proposal was submitted to this program or to a different NSF program.
An informational webinar will be held on Friday, August 5, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM EDT.
