    The Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University seeks applications from highly qualified individuals for a junior tenure-track faculty position in Mathematical Biology, to begin Fall 2021. Appointments to more senior positions may also be considered. We are seeking exceptionally well-qualified individuals whose research involves developing and applying mathematics to biological problems, ideally with a data-driven focus and/or involving interactions with domain-area scientists. Areas of mathematical interest include inverse problems, uncertainty quantification, data-driven modeling, machine learning, topological data analysis, network theory, stochastic processes and PDEs. Possible application areas include, but are not limited to, neurobiology, infectious diseases, cellular-level modeling, developmental biology, physiology, biomechanics and biophysics.

    Candidates must have a PhD in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related area; post-doctoral experience; strong research record; and commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
