Subject: CfP: TLiB Special Issue on Modeling Dynamics …

The Letters in Biomathematics invites you to submit your manuscript
for possible publication in a Special Issue on Modeling Dynamics,
Statistical Inference and Prediction of Infectious Diseases. In this
special issue, we are calling for papers that address innovative
mathematical, computational and statistical methodologies to gain a
better understanding of systems in life and social sciences. The focus
of the issue will be dedicated to exploring and discussing the
complexities of population ecology, epidemiology, and social sciences
as well as applications to infectious diseases.

We also encourage articles to present experiment-based development of
models and analysis as well as state-of-the-art computational
algorithms and statistical analysis that will help promote the
understanding of the social and contextual mechanisms generating
changes in populations.

Manuscript submission deadline: October 10, 2018 (early submissions are welcome)

Guest Editors: Dr. Anuj Mubayi, Dr. Padmanabhan Seshaiyer, Dr. Krishna
Kiran Vamsi Dasu and Dr. Pallav Kumar Baruah

Subject: PhD & Postdoc: Computational Biomechanics…, U. of Edinburgh, UK

I am currently looking for ambitious and motivated researchers to join
my group at The University of Edinburgh, UK, at the Postdoctoral
Research Fellow and PhD student level. Both projects are in the area
of computational biomechanics with applications to Tissue Engineering
and blood flow in complex vascular networks, respectively.

* Postdoctoral Research Fellow. MyoChip: Building a 3D innervated and
irrigated muscle on a chip. See poster in the attachment. We are
currently accepting expressions of interest across the consortium. A
job opening in Edinburgh will follow shortly.

* PhD Scholarship. Blood flow modelling in complex vascular networks:
from cancer diagnosis to treatment planning.

NSF-supported postdoctoral position in mathematical
biology/computational neuroscience in my group in the Department of
Mathematical Sciences at Indiana University-Purdue University
Indianapolis (IUPUI). This position involves research in the
mechanisms and properties of synchronization in neural and other
living systems including collaboration with experimentalists. The
position offers excellent interdisciplinary training possibilities in
computational neuroscience and mathematical biology.
